Job description

Mainline Excavator Position Responsibilities:

  • Excavate line and grade water, sewer and storm drain according project plans
  • Excavate around existing utilities with precision
  • Understand and implement trench depth & grade
  • Understand and implement pothole procedure, pipeline & grade compaction
  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching & shoring practices
  • Understand and implement the proper rigging for all materials being lowered into the trench
  • OSHA Certified competent person for trenching & shoring
  • Thorough knowledge of equipment maintenance to ensure safe and reliable equipment at all times

General Requirements:

  • Must be able to take and follow directions from supervisor
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers & supervisors with a positive attitude
  • Actively implement company & industry safety policies to ensure a consistently safe working environment for employees, owners, suppliers and the public
  • OSHA Certified competent person for trenching & shoring
  • Pass all pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing

Work Environment:

Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity, for long periods, under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs., stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out and above shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour
